MESSAGE

Let’s “Make Start” Together.

“If we ask them, they might do something interesting.” Driven by a single-minded desire to answer that expectation, we have faced manufacturing head-on, day after day. Honing our skills and never sparing that extra level of care, the products we created earned high praise, and today our activities have expanded globally. Leveraging the technology we have cultivated, while keeping automotive molds as our core, we have stepped into new challenges such as the design and production of golf clubs, equestrian equipment, and medical devices.

Our starting point was 1971. It was a small factory started as a sole proprietorship by our founder, Mitsushi Sakoda. The name “MS Seisakusho” embodied the founder’s initials and the desire to “Make shapes (create forms) of dreams through manufacturing.” The predecessor who inherited this ambition expanded the scope of the business alongside his colleagues. While maintaining a venture spirit and a warm corporate culture, we grew into a company with bases in five countries around the world. In every era, the protagonists are the individual staff members sweating on the front lines. Placing human resource development at the center of corporate management, we have raised a technical group that has now produced two “Contemporary Master Craftsmen” (Gendai no Meiko) and eleven “Master Craftsmen of Aichi.”

Times have changed drastically, and the stage for diverse talent to shine has expanded even further. We thought to ourselves—”From an individual’s name to a team’s name.” In 2023, we launched a project to change our company name, listening to voices both inside and outside the company. While inheriting the identity of “MS,” which has been loved by many, we wanted a name that is easy for anyone to understand, positive, and works globally. The new company name we chose is “Make Start.” We imbued this name with the determination to “take a step forward,” “always start anew,” and “create from zero.”

Our Purpose is: Never stop the steps of creation, take that extra care, and give shape to happiness for people around the world.

The “steps of creation” refers to the attitude of each individual continuing to stack up small improvements—one thought in planning, one line in a drawing, one ingenuity in processing, one check in inspection. “Taking extra care” (expressed as hitotema in Japanese) implies “Human (Hito) effort (Tema).” It is the compassion between people—a step taken to create value that efficiency alone cannot reach. By adding value throughout the sequence of planning, design, processing, inspection, mass production, maintenance, and regeneration, we give concrete shape to the “joy” of our customers, users, and people in the community.

Our vision is to Shape happiness with the world’s best creativity.
Contributing to the next society with a new step forward.
Doing work that lasts into the future by taking that extra care.

“The world’s best creativity” is the power to keep turning “can’t” into “can” through Ideas × Technology × On-site Capability. A “new step forward” signifies challenging social issues such as the environment, medical care, safety and security in daily life, and human resource development. “Work that lasts into the future” means stacking up results that we can be proud of 10 years from now, through quality and honest processes that each individual can be confident in and trust. As Make Start, while remaining a professional group in our ancestral business of molds, we will expand into businesses centered on manufacturing that goes beyond industrial boundaries to care for society, the region, and the global environment. Valuing not just economic size but the richness of society and culture, we aim to be a company that is “Good” rather than “Big.” Cherishing the connections between people, we will continue to challenge ourselves with our unique creativity and technical prowess, giving certain shape to a future where everyone can be happy.
